We’re searching for an exceptional organisational, customer focused Traffic Manager to join our Canterbury team based in Christchurch.

Using your proven leadership and mentoring skills, you’ll provide your people with clear guidance, support and you’ll ensure all work is completed to the satisfaction of our customers that includes various Downer departments and external clients.

Bringing all TTM aspects together under one banner to ensure we deliver for our customers and sustain profitable growth. This is a chance to make your mark and challenge the ‘status quo’.

Day to day responsibilities include:

- Management of employees including recruitment, training and wellbeing.
- Managing the allocation of plant, technology and resources to maximise utilisation whilst reducing spend.
- Promoting strong collaborative customer relationships through positive interactions and value-add activities.
- Ensuring sound financial and business practices are applied to all Traffic Management services.

You will draw down on your ability to engage and collaborate within TM and across multi-functional teams to ensure division-wide regional success. As an experienced leader, with a solid understanding of Traffic Management principles and practices, you’ll bring with you the following:

- A proven track record in developing a culture that supports Zero Harm, encouraging and rewarding excellence
- The ability to deal with unexpected events and make difficult decisions whilst providing direction to teams
- An organised and systematic approach to the working environment with strong planning and analysis skills.
- Experience working for both private and public sector clients
- A comprehensive understanding of the CoPTTM / NZGTTM, and how this relates to our clients work activities.
