Kōrero mō te ūranga - About the role
We are seeking a Senior Registered Nurse to join the Nurse Educator Team in the Hutt Valley. This is a part time secondment at 0.5 FTE in our Special Care and Baby Unit (SCBU) here at Hutt Valley. We would like to appoint to this secondment asap as this ends 10 Nov 2023.
Your primary responsibility is to provide educational support to SCBU. The SCBU level two unit and consist of 12 cots. Our babies range in ages from 32 - 40 weeks and some post term babies. We also provide care for Babies that require level three care and are sometimes stabilised here then transferred to Wellington NICU
This exciting opportunity does not come up often.
Moū - About you
- Nursing Council of New Zealand Registration and current APC
- A Current PDRP
- A minimum three years post graduate nursing experience with relevant expertise.
- Experience in coaching and teaching and the proven ability to engage people at all levels
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft office software

The team consists of 14 Nurse Educators who work throughout the hospital to provide the delivery of education to our nursing workforce. They report to the Nurse Educator Charge Nurse Manager and work closely with the Workforce and Practice Development Unit (W&PDU) to lead a culture of education and professional development to enhance the workforce capability to provide high quality and safe services.
