The Opportunity | Te Whiwhinga mahiWe are the kaitiaki of the land transport network for every person in Aotearoa New Zealand. It's our role to ensure everything in the system - the people, infrastructure, services and vehicles - is integrated. When everything works together, people and freight can travel easily, safely and efficiently.The Senior Advisor, Business Planning will:

- Maintain the business planning process so that actions are clear, time-bound and well communicated, ensuring stakeholders can meet expectations
- Maintain and improve the business planning cycle cadence to the point where we can undertake 'continuous planning'
- Ensure that process information (including templates and guides) is up to date and readily available
- Work with the Portfolio Offices and other to ensure that individual initiatives are well defined, evidenced and that the investment portfolios are coherent and have good quality decision information
- Work with colleagues in the EPMO to establish monitoring and reporting on the performance of the portfolios
- Work closely and establish good relationships with key enabling teams, including Finance and Performance Management
- Take part in Portfolio team and wider EPMO improvement work to ensure we can successfully deliver on our roadmap of change
- Experience in producing business plans and associated initiatives that are robust and well founded on evidence
- Ability to bring together diverse stakeholders to deliver plans and initiatives and make sure that the stakeholders are fully committed to the process and outcomes
- Experience in managing a business planning process that links to many other business processes so that the whole plan is coherent and meets organisational expectations
- A desire to both expand on your professional experience and share what you have with others
- Curiosity about how things work and will look for opportunities to make things work better and more efficiently for those who use our services. You will make sure that changes can be adopted by our portfolios
- Collaboration and joined up thinking: we need to strengthen all parts of our P3M system. This will include working with colleagues in other parts of NZTA | Waka Kotahi
- An ability to see stakeholder's points of view and express decisions and other information in their language

In that regard, this role will provide business planning expertise, across our organisation.
