Zone Manager

We’re very excited to announce that alongside AECOM, Fletcher Construction will be joining project partners Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency, Hutt City Council, Greater Wellington, and iwi Taranaki Whānui ki te Upoko o te Ika and Ngāti Toa Rangatira to deliver this project.

**The Role**

We have an opportunity for a Civil Construction Zone Manager to join our Fletcher Construction team. If you are an experienced Project Manager / Leader and has the confidence and experience to manage significant package of works (circa $150m) then this position will give you opportunity to work on a high profile and transformative project.

**Key Responsibilities**

As a Zone Manager, you will have focused your career on the civil/infrastructure market, your role will be to plan, resource and coordinate the delivery of projects from end to end, to ensure we achieve and exceed targets as relating to safety standards, quality standards, budgets, programme and the project objectives.
- Manage zone project team through the delivery of the project scope, ensuring that all deliverables are achieved safely on time and within budget.
- Lead and motivate civil construction team to meet individual and collective goals
- Organise resources in suitable timeframes across all stages of the project
- Ensure that the programme is proceeding according to scope, schedule, budget and quality standards
- Work together with the commercial team to manage financial aspects of the construction scope to protect the business’s interest while also maintaining good relationships with the clients
- Collaborate with designers, engineers, and other construction specialists

**About You**

This role will require a tertiary qualified engineer with at least 10 years + post graduate experience, offering a depth of expertise in a range of construction civil projects and project delivery. Leadership skills in terms of your team, driving a positive safety culture, working to project KRA’s and KPIs will be another key strength you will have to offer. Your ability to work collaboratively with a range of parties and disciplines on the project will be another key to your success in this role.
- Bachelor of Engineering or relevant similar qualification
- Extensive understanding of project and program management principles, methods and techniques
- Previous experience managing construction scope in excess of $100m
- Current right to work in New Zealand - no visa sponsorship available
