Sweeper Operator

The Napier City Council is seeking a skilled Sweeper Operator to join our dedicated City Services Team.

As a Sweeper Operator, you'll play a vital role in ensuring that Napier's public areas, such as walkways, carparks, and footpaths, remain immaculate and free from debris. Your responsibilities will include operating motorised street sweeping equipment to clean designated areas within Napier.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Operate a motorized sweeper vehicle to clean foot access areas, parking lots, and other specified locations under the guidance of your supervisor.
- Assist with additional duties as assigned by your supervisor, which may involve tasks in different areas after completing sweeping assignments.
- Conduct daily inspections of vehicles and equipment to ensure they are in proper working condition before operation.
- Adjust and replace brushes as needed for optimal performance.
- Perform routine greasing of the sweeper vehicle according to the maintenance schedule.
- Maintain basic records and reports on vehicle usage.
- Completion of three years of secondary schooling.
- Possession of a full driver's license.
- Previous experience in manual labor.
- Ability to work outdoors in various environmental conditions, including exposure to noise, vibrations, odors, dust, and inclement weather.
- Capability to engage in heavy manual labor.
- Familiarity with operating sweeping machines and light vehicles is advantageous but not mandatory.

This is a full time opportunity, Monday to Friday (42.5 hours per week)
