We are on the lookout for summer rangers to take the lead, protecting and enhancing the environment and natural landscapes of Auckland's Western Regional Parks. From vast forests with magnificent Kauri to the black volcanic sand surf beaches synonymous with Auckland's west coast, the Western Regional Parks encompasses everything that New Zealand is world-renowned for. At the Waitākere Ranges Regional Park, you’ll find the wild and beautiful west coast black-sand surf beaches of Whatipū Karekare, Piha, Te Henga and Muriwai.

**He angitūtanga: The opportunity**
Auckland’s Regional Parks play a fundamental role in preserving our unique and iconic landscapes across the region. Receiving up to 6 million visits a year, they are home to many rare and threatened ecosystems and native species.

This year we are on the hunt for 19 Summer Rangers to join our Regional Parks team for 3 months We are on the lookout for five summer rangers to take the lead, protecting and enhancing the environment and natural landscapes of Auckland's Western Regional Parks. From vast forests with magnificent Kauri to the black volcanic sand surf beaches synonymous with Auckland's west coast, the Western Regional Parks encompass everything that New Zealand is world-renowned for. The Western Parks include Waitakere Ranges, Muriwai and Te Rau Puriri Regional Parks and are a mix of beaches, farmland, and forest.

Our Summer Park Rangers are a key part in facilitating safe and enjoyable outdoor recreation and education experiences while conserving and protecting cultural, natural, and heritage resources.

**He kōrero mōu: About you**
If your studies would benefit from real-world experience and you are currently studying in the related fields of conservation, environmental management, ecology, cultural and NZ heritage, tourism, landscaping, horticulture, recreation, and agriculture, we want to hear from you

Based at one of our Regional Parks located within the Auckland Region, the rangers will assist with customer service, bylaw control and maintenance of the parks across the network. You will be provided with basic accommodation however you will need to cover your travel expenses.

Preference will be given to applicants who have a clean and full NZ driver’s licence, with competent manual driving skills.

There is a requirement to work every weekend and public holiday over the summer period.

**Ngā āhuatanga kei a mātou: What we offer**
These positions will work full-time from 15 November 2023 until 16 February 2024. It will include working on a roster covering weekends and public holidays, including the Christmas and New Year period.
