**Mō te tūranga | About the role
- x2 Democracy Advisor roles available.
- Organise and manage governance meetings and statutory hearings.
- Create governance documents to run meetings in person and online.
- Complete agendas, minutes, reports and memoranda.
- Utilise good judgement and discretion when advising our elected and appointed members on meeting process and legislative requirements.
- Develop and implement recommendations on governance strategy and structure.

**Mō te tangata | About you**
- Experience in local government in a similar role is ideal.
- You will be a supportive team player who communicates respectfully.
- Understand the neutrality and diplomacy required to work in a political environment.
- Demonstrates a high degree of emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills.
- You will be able to write accurate and informative reports to a high standard that assists decision makers to make robust defendable decisions.
- Has knowledge of relevant statutory processes and able to provide robust advice on legislative matters.
- Able to produce written work to a consistently high standard is a core requirement.
- Able to work with sensitive and confidential information.

**Mō ngā pūkenga | Qualifications and experience**
- Relevant degree level qualification (or transferrable demonstratable skills)
- Clean full NZ drivers' licence.
- Previous experience managing and running governance meetings (or equivalent), including report writing is essential.
- High level of computer literacy.
- Experience using Infocouncil is preferred, but not essential.
