Our orderlies support patient care by safely moving patients and items around the hospital at the right time, to the right place, in a courteous, professional and well-presented manner, contributing to the effective day-to-day operation of Orderly Services at Nelson Hospital.

We have a permanent full-time position available, working 80 hours per fortnight. It will be important that you are available to work rostered and rotating shifts Monday to Sunday. No on-call is required.

In addition to hourly rates, we pay penal rates for evening and weekend work, and additional payments/time off if you are rostered to work on a public holiday.

You will be an excellent communicator who is passionate about delivering a quality service. You will be efficient and able to manage your time effectively. A clean driver’s licence is essential.

Due to the nature of the work, you must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time. It is essential that you are physically fit and active with knowledge of heaving lifting techniques.

Hotel / Porter / Orderly or Security worker experience would be advantageous, but is not essential.
