We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Cyclic Crew Leader to play a vital role in our road maintenance contract with HEB Construction, a reputable construction company based out of Ashburton.
As a Cyclic Crew Leader, you will be at the forefront of our efforts to maintain the highest standards of safety and quality for our community.
**Responsibilities**:
Safety Advocate: Your primary responsibility will be to promote a safety-first culture within our road maintenance operations. You will assist in implementing and monitoring safety procedures, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and promoting safe work practices among the team.
Team Support: You will work closely with our Cyclic Supervisor and HEB Construction team. Your attention to detail and excellent organizational skills will be instrumental in ensuring tasks are scheduled effectively and completed efficiently.
Road Maintenance Activities: From pavement repairs to surface defects, you will actively participate in a variety of cyclic maintenance activities. This includes sign maintenance and installation, pothole patching, vegetation control, and other related tasks aimed at maintaining the safety and aesthetics of our roads.
Community Engagement: As a representative of HEB Construction, you will interact with members of the community in a professional and courteous manner. Responding to public inquiries, addressing concerns, and fostering positive relationships will be a key aspect of your role.
Qualifications and Skills:
- A valid driver's license with a clean driving record and the ability to drive a Class 2 manual vehicle.
- Previous experience in road maintenance or construction is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in road maintenance.
- Strong communication skills to work collaboratively with team members and engage with the public.
- Physically fit and able to perform manual labour tasks in various weather conditions.
- Attention to detail and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to changing road maintenance practices and technologies.
