An exciting opportunity has become available to appoint Driver Trainers to our Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch Branches. The Driver Trainers will work together as a Team ensuring our drivers across all Branch locations possess the necessary skills and knowledge to operate vehicles safely and efficiently.

**The key responsibilities of the position are to**:
Providing efficient and productive day-to-day delivery of training including the delivery of the induction programs, pre-employment assessments, as well as forklift, dangerous goods and other compliance related training, and participation in accident investigations.
Designing and implementing comprehensive training programs to ensure drivers possess the necessary skills, knowledge, and certifications required for safe and efficient operations.
Assisting the HR department with the delivery of recruitment, induction, and training of staff, including orientation, defensive driving techniques, vehicle familiarisation, and adherence to company policies and procedures.
Maintaining accurate and up-to-date training records and documentation of training programs, including driver certifications, completion of training modules, and performance evaluations.
Enforcing compliance standards across all operations.
Reviewing Scania Leaderboard Reports and taking corrective action.
Reviewing Overspeed Reports and DriveCam footage and taking corrective action.
To be successful as a Driver Trainer, you will have the following skills and experience:
Previous experience as a professional driver, preferably in the freight or transport industry.
A minimum of 3 years experience in supervisory role within the freight and transport industry.
Previous driving experience at a Class 5 Level.
A valid Class 5 Drivers Licence with Driving Instructor (I), Forklift (F), and Dangerous Goods (D) endorsements.
Robust knowledge of freight operations, traffic laws, road safety, and defensive driving techniques.
A current forklift operator certificate would be advantageous.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively convey information to individuals with varying levels of driving experience.
Demonstrated a capability to build high performing teams from both an operational and health and safety perspective.
An excellent verbal/ written communicator with an ability to positively influence the team and engage confidently with others.
Be physically fit.

You must be a NZ Resident or Citizen or have a valid NZ work visa and be able to pass a pre-employment drug test to be eligible for this role.
