**About the role**

Specifically you will be part of a DevOps team transforming, supporting and maintaining a system of critical infrastructure to public cloud adhering to engineering best practices.

You will be expected to work closely with team members and the broader programme to transition legacy infrastructure to AWS Cloud. You should be comfortable supporting other team members where required and interact closely with architects, developers and testers.

**Responsibilities**:

- Design and deploy scalable and reliable cloud infrastructure solutions using AWS services.
- Configure and optimise network architecture, including VPCs, subnets, firewalls, and load balancers, to ensure high availability, security and performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into scalable and efficient cloud infrastructure designs.
- Provides input into the roadmaps of teams representing upstream dependencies to help improve the overall program of work
- Automate infrastructure provisioning and deployment processes using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools.
- Stay updated with the latest trends and best practices in cloud infrastructure and contribute to the continuous improvement of our clients cloud infrastructure architecture.
- Optimize resource utilisation and cost management while maintaining compliance standards.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members, fostering a collaborative and knowledge-sharing culture within the organization.
- Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure-related issues and provide technical support to internal and external teams

What do you need?

Along with demonstrate technical leadership in infrastructure engineering AWS, ideally with a professional public cloud certification, you'll have knowledge of DevOps automation and tools such as TeamCity, Terraform, IaC,IaaS, Python, and GitLab. You'll be a specialist in AWS hosting and configuration with a solid grasp of VPC, networking, load balancing, DNS, Lambda, and EKS API Gateway.

**You’ll also demonstrate**:

- A broad understanding of infrastructure layers or stack, with a broad knowledge across multiple platforms, such as mainframe, middleware, network or deeper specialism
- An understanding of the roadmap of your area of expertise
- The ability to work with design authorities to deploy cost effective and resilient solutions
- Significant experience of contributing to roadmaps and strategies, and working closely with third parties, assuring output and managing performance
- Good collaboration and influencing skills
