We are in search for people to work twice a year (a total of 16-20 hours) as English Facilitators for an Oral Interpreting exam. You will work with a trained Interpreter with scripted dialogues in English and one other language which need to be interpreted by students who are studying the Micro credential in Liaison Interpreting (MCLI) at Unitec.

The work will be 2 Saturdays a year in June and November. Paid training will be provided in the week before each exam.

**Te āheinga: The opportunity**

The Micro credential Liaison Interpreting Theory and Practice (MCLIT) run Interpreting Oral exams on Saturdays at the end of each semester. The exam requires an English Facilitator to roleplay a situation in English and a non-English Speaker to respond. The student is required to interpret the content of the roleplay. The English facilitator is also required to assess the students Oral English according to simplified criteria.

This is a casual work that would take place twice a year.

**He kōrero mōu: About you**

**You will need to have the following skills**:

- Advanced communication skills
- Demonstrate acting skills and ability to deliver a scripted roleplay in multiple contexts e.g. a court hearing.
- Intermediate to advanced Zoom skills
- Demonstrable practical knowledge and understanding of how to manage and facilitate an online assessment with both the student and LOTE Assessor via zooms or Teams.
- Availability to work 2x Saturdays a year in June and November and attend standardisation sessions as required.
- An understanding or desire to learn te Reo Māori, tikanga Māori, and the values and practices of kaupapa Māori
- Evidence of active engagement in building diverse, inclusive, and equitable workplaces/environments
