**The Role**

We are looking for a Lead Software Engineer/Tester to join our rapidly growing team and help deliver solutions that make the world a better place. As the Lead Software Engineer, you will have the opportunity to guide your team as they work on cutting-edge technologies and be at the forefront of innovation for Seequent. You'll play a crucial role in developing our market-leading eco-system of solutions, Seequent Evo.

**Please note, this role is a hybrid position to be based out of our Christchurch office.**

**In this role, you will have the opportunity to**:

- Lead a team of like-minded developers who share your passion and drive, with a focus on fostering an inclusive and supportive environment.
- Collaborate with architecture and product to provide innovative solutions that help our organisation deliver value to our customers.
- Advise and support team members in their career growth and development goals.
- Participate in code reviews, pair-programming, automation, and other activities to promote mastery of software engineering best practices.
- Optimise and allocate feature development and quality assurance work within the pod.
- Provide creative and professional products aimed specifically to each customer.

**In order to be successful in this role, you should have**:

- Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, engineering or equivalent
- 5+ years of professional experience in designing and developing scalable, testable APIs.
- 1+ year leading a scaled agile software development team.
- Experience leveraging fundamental design principles and patterns behind scalable, clean architectures
- Experience with CI/CD Pipelines (i.e. GitHub, Gitlab, etc.)
- Well versed on best practices related to coding and API Design
