Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role
An expansion of our inpatient physical health services has created exciting new opportunities for skilled allied health clinicians. As a Dietitian, you will work across acute and non-acute inpatient wards within a multidisciplinary team to help individuals optimise their nutritional intake and provide education on diet related to their condition. You’ll have a voice in shaping this new service, and you’ll have regular supervision and support with continuing professional development.

Te Whatu Ora Taranaki employs approximately 350 allied health professionals across its services, and we’re growing our inpatient physical health rehabilitation team by 60%. You will be joining a friendly team that is diverse in skills and experience, a team that welcomes collaboration, and that values the contribution of each team member. Our team provides rehabilitation care across acute and non-acute inpatient wards, and we’re happy to support other teams to ensure their success.
The Dietetic team is a small, but growing, team offering services to adult and paediatric patients in the inpatient wards and outpatient clinics. This exciting new role will primarily work in the older people’s health and rehab ward, with in-reach to the other acute wards depending on patient acuity and referral volumes.
Moū - About you
You will need to have:
- New Zealand registration with NZ Dietitians Board and a current Annual Practicing Certificate
- The ability to work collaboratively with others to provide integrated assessment and treatment to clients with a diverse range of challenges.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with all levels of staff.
- A passion for ongoing learning and development, and the ability to share, support and develop others.
- At least 12 months experience working in a clinical setting with adult patients (hospital)
- Full drivers license.
- Working visa/NZ residence (as appropriate)
