**Job Description**:
A unique opportunity for a Marine and Crane Surveyor position available in Tauranga. The role will be split between Marine Surveying and Inspection of land based cranes in the Bay of Plenty Region.
This is a 40 hr a week role which will require evening/night and weekend work. Excellent overtime rates and other benefits. Occasional travel to other regions may be required.
**Duties & Responsibilities**:
- Draft Surveys of dry bulk vessels.
- Bunker/Discharge Surveys for Liquid Cargo (Oil, Refined Fuels, LPG, Bitumen and other chemicals)
- Vessel On and Off hire Surveys
- Vessel's Crane Surveys
- Vessel's Safety Inspections
- Various other marine surveys
- Land Crane surveys under the PECPR regulations.
**Qualifications**:
**Essential Requirements for the role**:
- Applicants for this position should have NZ residency or a valid New Zealand work visa.
- A minimum of 5 years sea faring experience and/or 12 months as a Marine Surveyor.
- IFIA Certification.
- Have a tertiary qualification in mechanical or marine engineering.
- Valid NZ Driver's Licence or ability to obtain.
**Required Skills**:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office - MS Word, MS Excel and MS Outlook
- Ability to perform physically demanding work activities i.e. working at height, confined space etc.
