**Mō te tūranga | About the role**
- Fixed term for approximately 8 months, ending in December and based in Taupo.
- Participate in the development of catchment management work programmes, plans and budgets.
- Plan, supervise and deliver specific catchment management projects including erosion control, plant pest control and riparian enhancement.
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, Iwi, community representatives and ratepayers.
- Provide ongoing advice and information.

**Mō te tangata | About you**
- An affiliation to Tuwharetoa, TARIT or Raukawa iwi is desirable, but not necessary.
- Proven project/contract management skills.
- Demonstrated experience in resource consent compliance.
- Proven success at building relationships and resolving issues with internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with colleagues & customers and build strong client relationships.
- Have an interest in working in different locations around a beautiful region.

**Mō ngā pūkenga | Qualifications and experience**
- A relevant tertiary qualification and preferably a minimum of 3 years work experience.
- Experience in erosion control, including, a practical understanding of land use capability, land management and natural resource management.
- Experience in managing and delivering restoration projects, including weed control, native planting and maintenance requirements.
- Knowledge of farm systems and experience in producing environmentally focussed property or restoration plans.
- Proven track record in collaborative work and building partnerships.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and planning skills.
- Be organised and self-motivated.

The wider team supports Waikato Regional Council’s mission by implementing policies for non-statutory methods of integrated catchment management. This includes biosecurity & natural heritage management, fostering sustainable use of land & catchments, and managing infrastructure assets.
