Wellington City, New Zealand New Zealand Government Full time

The secret to our success is our people. While we are ordinary people, we are not all the same. We welcome diversity, in all its forms, in fact we consider it a strength. Join us and work at the heart of national security to protect New Zealand and New Zealanders.
About us
The National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) is the heart of Aotearoa New Zealand's cyber defence. We fulfil the cyber security responsibilities of the GCSB and the Government Chief Information Security Officer.
The NCSC is growing our leadership team to meet the demands of our dynamic operating environment. As the cyber threats affecting New Zealand organisations evolve and become more complex and impactful, we need to ensure our teams are adapting to meet these new challenges. To help address this we have created three new leadership roles within our Cyber Defence Operations Branch. These roles will lead delivery of the NCSC's incident triage and response, cyber threat analysis and intelligence functions, and defensive operations.

About you

**To be successful in these roles, you will**:

- Be an accomplished operational leader with demonstrated experience leading cross-functionally, across line management, towards collective outcomes
- Have great people leadership and prioritise setting a positive work culture
- Be effective at identifying, managing and escalating risk and exercising judgment in ambiguous, fast paced, high profile operational contexts
- Have a calm effective communication style, capable of contextualising information for decision makers and across government
- Be experienced in building trust and navigating diverse stakeholder sets
- Have demonstrable experience developing system-level frameworks as well as operational workflow, policies and processes
- Have strong engagement skills in domestic and international settings

The roles
Manager, Incident Triage and Response
The Manager, Incident Triage and Response leads the NCSC's response to cyber security incidents that affect nationally significant organisations or that have a high national impact.
This role will work with leaders across the NCSC, and lead engagement with New Zealand's National Security System to coordinate the response to potentially high impact cyber security incidents. They will lead teams responsible for the triage, response and overall management of cyber security incidents affecting New Zealand, and as required, will act as the NCSC's incident controller for nationally significant cyber security incidents.

Manager, Threat Analysis and Intelligence
The Manager, Threat Analysis and Intelligence leads the NCSC's cyber threat detection, discovery and disruption operations, as well as, cyber threat analysis and assessment functions within the Cyber Defence Operations branch.
This role will work with leaders across the NCSC, and lead teams responsible for the threat analysis and reporting to inform both private and public sector organisations, including senior decision makers about cyber threat trends and key cyber threat assessments. They will lead the branch's engagement with New Zealand and international intelligence and assessment, cyber defence, and industry partners.

Manager, Tradecraft and Operations
The Manager, Tradecraft and Operations leads and coordinates the NCSC's defensive technical operations in response to significant cyber threats and support to Major Events.
