**What’s the opportunity?**

An opportunity has arisen for a Corporate Lawyer to join the team in NZ on a 12 month contract.

Reporting to the General Counsel & Company Secretary - Australasia, this role will be responsible for delivering the legal compliance agenda to all of Inchcape New Zealand’s businesses including Subaru of NZ, LDV NZ, SsanYong NZ and Inchcape Automotive Retail (NZ).

Further to the above, the key responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:

- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a variety of corporate contracts/agreements and documents
- Providing legal advice and guidance on corporate governance and compliance matters
- Supporting M&A activities, including due diligence and transactional support
- Collaborating with key stakeholders to address legal issues and mitigate risks
- Competition and Consumer law compliance
- Advise on escalated customer complaints
- Act as the privacy officer for Inchcape NZ and manage all privacy related issues
- Provide ad hoc legal advice to the retail team as required

**About you**:
**To be successful you will possess the following**:

- Extensive experience in a similar role
- Experience with Competition and Consumer Law and Privacy Law
- Degree in Lae
- Currently admitted to practice as an in-house counsel in NZ
- Hold a NZ Law Society Practicing Certificate
- NZ Drivers Licence
- Working knowledge of NZ Fair Trading act, Commerce act and Consumer Guarantees act
