**About the role**

The Information Security Manager is responsible for oversight and control for all aspects of information security, including risk and governance, cyber-security, network and platform security, and advising on global and national security operational matters. The role is responsible for leading, planning and carrying out information security measures that will protect the business’s data and information from deliberate attacks, unauthorised access, corruption and theft.

This is a newly created leadership role reporting to the Chief Digital Officer. You will use your proven experience and insights to coach and mentor our people on how to uplift WEL’s information security practices.

You will be an influential and experienced people leader who has previously demonstrated your ability to lead and influence at all levels, from the Chief Executive to our field crews.

**About you**

You will have:

- A tertiary qualification in IT or related field
- Extensive knowledge in security governance frameworks, specifically NIST, ISO27001
- At least 7 years’ experience in senior IT leadership positions
- 10 + years in information security and IT risk management with an excellent understanding of security protocols, cryptography, authentication, authorization, audit, and Secure-by-Design principles
- Proven experience in IT risk management and implementing solutions to mitigate them
- A deep, working knowledge of information security tools and techniques in multiple domains (e.g. Security Architecture and Engineering, Security Operations, Network Security, IAM)
- The ability to operate at both a strategic and operational level
- Strong communication and influencing skills and operate calmly under pressure
