**Salary**: $71,034 to $92, 543 depending on experience
Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role
We are seeking a Genetic Counsellor for a 12 month contract to cover parental leave. As part of our team you will help deliver genetic counselling services to the Central region of New Zealand. This is a general genetic service, with all genetic counsellors cross-trained to be able to see a wide range of genetic conditions in a range of settings including diagnostic, predictive and prenatal counselling. We deliver local, telehealth and outreach clinics to the central region of New Zealand. Professional supervision is provided, and if required the team will support an Associate Genetic Counsellor to work towards certification.

The Genetic Health Service New Zealand (GHSNZ) is a national clinical genetics service. There are two DHB providers (ADHB & CCDHB) operating out of 3 clinical hubs; Northern (Auckland), Central (Wellington) and South Island (Christchurch).This role is based in the Central Hub. You will work closely with a small team and supportive team of genetic counsellors and Consultant Geneticists and have regular contact with the national GHSNZ team and the Wellington Regional Genetic Laboratory.
