**The role**

We have an exciting opportunity for a resourceful person with relevant experience to join our Merchandising Team and be based preferably in Auckland, but potentially Christchurch. In this role, you’ll play an integral part in working with the Category Manager for Back-of-Wall (BOW) products in the implementation of strategic plans, for our exclusive plumbing brands.

Your core function will focus on managing the full lifecycle of products from execution of product strategy, research & design, compliance and launching new products to market. You’ll take full ownership in determining which products should be ranged and promoted and set product pricing.

You will build strong relationships with suppliers and negotiate supplier terms and work collaboratively with the BOW Category Manager to drive and achieve category growth, increase margin and EBIT. It’s an exciting role where you’ll enjoy a great sense of achievement in seeing success in the fruits of your labour You’ll provide training and support to our branch network and be responsible for driving the growth of our back-of-wall sales.

Success in this role is about your customer-centric, solutions-focused and action-orientated approach. You’ll have the ability to seamlessly deliver a great experience to our internal and external stakeholders, through strong communication and reliable service. Mico makes it easy and you will express this in your day-to-day work and service to our network.

Ideally you will be someone who has worked in a similar role where you will have had exposure to end-to-end product development with a strong focus on research, design and compliance. You’ll be forward-thinking, technically-minded and have a growth mindset and can-do attitude.

Your communication, organisation and relationship skills will prove invaluable, as you collaborate with internal and external customers. A strong personal and work ethic is essential, as is your IT savvy and previous relevant experience.

And of course, don’t forget your sense of humour, as we’ve got a great team environment
