Position purpose

The role will be responsible for development within an Agile team who will have a variety of different skill bases (software development, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, user interface design, etc). An emphasis is placed on the ability to work within a broad range of technologies from Cloud, Mobile, Firmware, Electronics, Optics, Measurement Science etc. We encourage working outside of your comfort zone and learning new skills that will benefit both you and IKE.

Since a best-in-class infrastructure platform is critical, this role will have the responsibility of ensuring that ikeGPS’s infrastructure platforms perform at best in class with a focus on information security management, system uptime and customer ease of use. This will require working closely with the Team Lead and the System Architect.

Inherent in the role is a desire to be proactive and focus on continuous improvement, resulting in a culture of high performance.

Position location

The position will be located within the Engineering Team in Wellington, New Zealand.

Strategic context

The Full Stack Developer has the responsibility of building solutions to customer problems as defined in Epics agreed and prioritized by the Product Manager within an Agile development team, working closely with the other members of the team, and with relevant stakeholders.

Key responsibilities & Expected Outcomes
- Proactively engage with the Product Manager to understand key customer requirements. Scope the development requirements such that the costs, benefits and risks can be commercially assessed.
- Implement features as part of an Agile process which help ensure non-functional requirements (maintainable, reliable, secure, etc).
- Be a member of the Agile process and collaborate with development, production, and key stakeholders to ensure IKE’s Agile process is best in class.
- Incorporate Continuous Improvement into processes and products to ensure that we are working as effectively and efficiently as possible, and producing solutions that delight our customers.
- Keep Cybersecurity front of mind at all times, critical to IKE’s success is ensuring that IKE’s architecture and customers critical data is protected from cybersecurity breaches
- Ensure that our systems and processes meet the security and compliance expectations of our customers.
- Ensure Core Development team KPIs are met as agreed with the broader IKE team.
- Daily communication and collaboration with other members in the Agile Team
- Direct report to relevant Team Lead.
- Communication with relevant stakeholders for development work (e.g. Sales team / IKE Analyze / Support / Solutions Engineering etc)
- Outcome: Development tasks within the Agile backlog are completed in a timely manner, with a high level of quality, security and efficiency. Stakeholders and other team members are regularly updated on progress
