This is an exciting opportunity join a dynamic and dedicated team as part of a 24/7 national child protection service. In order to make positive changes in the lives of tamariki, rangatahi and whānau in our community, we need people who have knowledge, experience and are passionate about whānau wellbeing. Our contact centre is a fast-paced environment and your ability to manage a changing workload staying focused on support tamariki, rangatahi and whānau is vital. In this role you will:

- Receive reports of concern and work with our notifiers to ensure the needs of tamariki, rangatahi and whānau are fully met
- Hear tamariki and rangatahi voices and support them and their whānau to make positive change
- Complete initial assessments for tamariki, rangatahi and whānau
- Work alongside partners in our community, non-government organsiations and state sector agencies
- On afterhours our work also includes responding to and supporting the co-ordination of our response to urgent situations

Ngā pūmanawatanga ōu | What you will bring
- Understanding and appreciation of cross-cultural practices in particular; knowledge of tikanga Māori, and Pacific peoples' culture
- A commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi
- Full registration with New Zealand's Social Work Registration Board (SWRB)
- Sound assessment, reasoning and judgement skills
- Demonstrated resilience, problem solving techniques and flexibility
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- An authentic commitment to working alongside whānau is essential
- Soft skills, emotional empathy, team work and leadership
- A positive outlook and readiness to change
- Excellent grasp on using technology: Microsoft Office; PureCloud
- A full, clean, current driver's licence
