**Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity**

We're looking for an experienced HR Professional to join our People & Culture team in the newly created role of Head of HR - Hospital and Specialist Services. You will be a key member of the People & Culture Leadership Team, and will be responsible for providing advice and support to the new national business group, Hospital and Specialist Services.

The Hospital & Specialist Services business group in Te Whatu Ora comprises approximately 80,000 staff and is made up of a wide range of occupational groups in front line and enabling roles.

You will provide face to face support for Hospital and Specialist Services leaders at all levels, especially through the changes as we bring 29 previously separate geographically based entities into national based business groups in a unified organisation. You will closely support leaders during this transitional period, collaborating with Kaimahi from senior management to frontline people leaders. The focus will be on building knowledge, confidence, and experience to handle the range of people matters they will face. Your team will provide leaders with the hands-on support they need to help resolve issues and build high performing teams to ensure that we deliver the best healthcare to the people of Aotearoa.

**Mōu | About you**

You are a qualified HR professional with experience in leading and managing an HR function within a large complex organisation. You will have experience navigating within the hospital settings and the ability to deliver strategic plans in a multi-layered operating model. You will bring the tools and experience needed to successfully lead large diverse teams through change, achieving improved results while navigating a highly nuanced and complex system. Your career has led you to have a sound understanding of business processes, and the People & Culture as a whole.

A thought leader and influencer, you are known for creating robust and efficient processes and keeping a clear focus on long term goals while delivering tangible results on the journey.

**Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience**
- Demonstrable experience in leading and managing an HR or people and culture/capability workforce within an organisation where a high level of organisational acumen and political nous was required
- Significant experience at an executive level within large public facing multi-faceted or complex environments with multiple consumers and diverse interests and expectations
- Experience operating in a confidential/secure environment with access to sensitive information
- Proven experience in successfully leading large diverse teams through change and achieving improved results
- Experience of engaging with unions on operational issues
- Proven experience in successfully developing and maintaining a structured approach to managing a wide range of stakeholder and professional relationships both internally and externally
