We are proud to be the exclusive technical recruitment partner of Metspray, a NZ market leader in protective blast and coatings, as we search for a Project Engineer to join their Site Division, here in Auckland.
**About the role**
Supporting the Operations Manager, the Project Engineer is responsible for the front-end preparation of all site based project planning, scheduling, and administration for site projects. You will have daily oversight of small and mid-sized projects that may range in a day's work through to 4-6-week work programmes.
This role will be responsible to liaise with a range of key stakeholders including Metspray onsite staff, head office, end customers, clients and other key project contacts as you ensure Metspray's project deliverables are met on time and to expectation.
The role involves complete budgetary responsibility for projects within role scope, and as an experienced engineer your ability to meticulously plan out all the priorities and have oversight of any given week will be key in the role.
Other core aspects of the role include:
- Preparing site reports, management reports, and ensuring project deliverables are met.
- Checking structural drawings and design plan to ensure they are followed correctly.
- Ensuring QHSE policies and legislation are always adhered to.
- Maintaining constant communication with management, staff, and client to ensure proper specification, information and job/project time frames are achievable.
**Skills & Experience**
We're ideally seeking someone from within the coatings or broader construction industry, who has multiple site-based experiences at different levels on-site.
Other key required skills include:
- Strong Project Management methodology knowledge and excellent planning, workflow management and organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and well-rounded IT skills within a range of software (MS Office, QHSE, MS Project, Smart Sheet, CAD design and other related operational systems).
- Minimum of diploma in Construction Management/Project Management or related discipline.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, and ability to think strategically and analytically to make good, quick decisions.
- Experienced in writing and generating reports
