We're looking for a Sawmill Engineer to maintain and repair the machinery.

**Responsibilities**:

- Repairs and Maintenance.
- Keeping the plant and equipment fully operational.
- Working with the other maintenance engineers, contractors, management, and staff on the site to carry out work as required.
- Attending to breakdowns and getting equipment up and running as quickly and efficiently as possible.
- Taking a pragmatic approach to dealing with a task and evaluating the cost versus downtime and long-term outcome.
- Reviewing and improving the current preventative maintenance plan.
- Organising the workshop tools and equipment as required.
- Maintaining a pragmatic and well considered approach to health and safety, including risk assessment before starting a task.
- Discipline in the use of lock out tags and hot work permits.
- A safety-first culture.
- Having a good level of co-operation and communication with other workers, department managers and suppliers.
- Keeping focused and maintaining a professional approach when under pressure.
- Always acting with honesty and integrity

You must pass a pre-employment drug test.

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Christchurch, Canterbury: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)
