Mangere, New Zealand Te Wananga o Aotearoa Full time

**Mō mātau | About us**

As a proudly indigenous tertiary educator, **‘tauira success’** is our mission and **‘whānau transformation through education’ **is our vision, guiding our commitment to delivering quality education programmes underpinned by Māori culture and values.

Our kaimahi (employees) enjoy a whānau-friendly workplace and a great range of benefits to support their wellbeing and that of their whānau:

- Free health and life insurance for permanent kaimahi.
- For permanent kaimahi, four extra leave days each year to celebrate Matariki and Christmas, plus special leave available for those involved in cultural or sporting events.
- Flexible work hours for non-rostered positions and work-from-home options for positions that can be performed remotely.
- Free car parking at our main campuses.

**Mō tēnei mahi | About this job**

We are offering an exciting dual-role opportunity for a dedicated individual to join our team in a full-time capacity (37.5 hours per week). This position combines **two essential** roles**:Placement Coordinator for Social Work (0.5 FTE)** and **Kaiako for the Bachelor of Bicultural Social Work programme (0.5 FTE).**

As the **Placement Coordinator**, you will manage fieldwork placements, ensuring tauira are matched with suitable agencies and supervised throughout their practicum. You’ll build relationships with stakeholders, support tauira from enrolment to graduation, and contribute to practicum teaching where needed. You’ll also handle administrative tasks such as agreements, progress reporting, and collaborating with Kaiako to ensure effective programme delivery.

In the **Kaiako** role, you will teach various levels of the Ngā Poutoko Whakarara Oranga (Kaupae 7) Bachelor of Bicultural Social Work, from certificate to third-year level. This includes lesson planning, delivering material, and evaluating tauira progress. You will support tauira learning using indigenous teaching practices and hold the appropriate qualifications. Full registration with the NZ Social Work Registration Board (S.W.R.B) is required. You will also engage in research (rangahau) to enhance teaching and contribute to Mātauranga Māori and the programme’s vision.

**Mōu | About you**

We are looking for someone who is passionate about the social work sector, with both practical experience and a commitment to education, who can seamlessly fulfil the responsibilities of these two positions.

You will also bring with you:

- You must be registered with the Social Work Registration Board (SWRB)
- New Zealand Certificate in Adult and Tertiary Teaching (Level 5) or equivalent
- Proven experience in related role

As a kaupapa Māori organisation, your willingness to participate in cultural activities and develop an understanding of Āhuatanga Māori (values, culture and tikanga) will be key.
