An exciting opportunity exists to join the Intelligence team, based at Tongariro Prison. The Intelligence Officer role is part of a small team tasked to provide quality actionable intelligence to support Hōkai Rangi and help to protect victims, prevent criminal activity and support staff safety.

Through the development, coordination and maintenance of an integrated network you will ensure the timely and accurate delivery of information and intelligence to support your team and decision-makers

**To be successful in this role, you will have**:

- A sound understanding of the principles and methodologies of the Intelligence Cycle and intelligence collection plans and processes
- The credibility, integrity and personality to establish and maintain strong relationships internal and external to the Department
- Experience in interviewing
- Knowledge of the legislation governing information collection, storage, dissemination and use.
- Ability to work in a team, while being responsible for your own tasks and wider joint tasks
- Strong oral and written communications skills

A full driver licence is required as travel will be a requirement of this role.
The successful applicant must obtain, and maintain, a Secret clearance.
Utu ā-tau | Salary
The start range for this salary will be $74,675.00 Appointment and remuneration will reflect skills and experience relevant to the role.
