Lollipops Britomart

We are currently seeking a Cook at Lollipops Educare Britomart (Beach Road) based in Auckland CBD. Our centre is licensed for 60 children and caters for children from 3 months old to 5 years old.

This role will involve planning, designing, and preparing nutritious morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea for the children on a daily basis. You'll need to be organised, good time management, plan in advance, proactive and have an excellent knowledge of food hygiene and promote healthy nutritious eating. Our small homely open kitchen is the heart of our Centre where you will see children and parents coming pass so you will have a warm, approachable, energetic and positive attitude that values relationships with our teachers, children, and whanau.

This is a permanent position working 30 hours a week preferably from 8:30am to 3pm on Monday to Friday.

About this role:

- You will be required to comply with all hygiene and Health and Safety regulations
- Ability to learn and keep abreast to new regulations and changes
- Set high standards of health and safety, food safety, hygiene, kitchen mentainece and housekeeping
- A good understanding of nutrition, dietary practices and the ability to cater for special dietary requirements (awareness of allergies, and dietary, cultural or religious needs and preferences when preparing meals)
- Ability to design and plan meals (preferably with a monthly rotation), organise supplies, and work to timelines
- Be proactive and take initiative to make the space their own
- Support Teachers with supervising children at times
- Ability to multi task and be flexible and support the team when need arise
- Preferably with previous experience preparing food in a café, restaurant or similar setting
- Applicants for this position will have NZ residency or a valid work visa
