This position involves fitting fire-resistant seals (firestops) to a range of building services where they pass through fire separations in buildings.

Our client has a strong quality focus so precision, accuracy, attention to detail and a high standard of workmanship are paramount.

**Your main duties would include**:

- Reading and interpreting building plans and system specifications.
- Correctly and accurately identify construction materials and service types and research suitable solutions.
- Installation of passive fire protection systems to manufacturer's specifications. This includes fire stopping of new service penetrations and retrofit fire stopping to existing services.
- Use of hand and power tools and light building work including plasterboard fitting, plastering and basic framing.
- Produce quality assurance documentation for all installation work using our electronic record-keeping system.
- Skills and experience

**To be successful in this position you need**:

- Experience in passive fire installation OR relevant building services trade/construction industry experience.
- NZ Certificate in Passive Fire Protection Installation Level 3 or be prepared to achieve this qualification with support within the first 12 months of employment.
- To be fit, healthy and able to carry out physically demanding tasks.
- Excellent attention to detail with a flexible 'can do' attitude.
- Great communication and time management skills.
- The ability to work within a team but also capable of working independently/autonomously.
- A strong commitment to health & safety practices.
- Able to maintain a standard of excellence even in challenging environmental conditions.
- A full clean driver's licence & reliable transport.
- Available to travel where required.
- To complete a satisfactory Ministry of Justice check.
- Must be Eligible to work in NZ
