Court Registry Officer, Christchurch High Court

As a Court Registry Officer, you will work with a team responsible for the successful operation of the Court. You will liaise with multiple stakeholders, including defendants, witnesses, family members, Oranga Tamariki, Lawyers, and Police Officers. You will be able to communicate confidently with Judges within the courtroom and their chambers, as well as other members of the judiciary.

**Your primary responsibilities will include**:

- Court Taking - You will help facilitate the smooth operation of the Court, including introducing Judges (in English and Te Reo Māori), working closely with them in the Courtroom and Chambers, managing jurors, and general administration of the
- Case Management - This involves ensuring files are accurate and up to This part of the role involves a large component of data entry.

- Collaborative - in the registry, you will be working alongside other case officers; hence, reliability and being a team player is crucial.

- Able to multi-task - some of our processes are repetitive, so you will be able to manage conflicting priorities and move from one task to another quickly.
- Willing to learn - legislation and court processes are always changing, and you can adapt and maintain knowledge capital.
- Resilient - as a Court Registry Officer, you might work on sensitive cases, sometimes at high volume.

The Christchurch High Court comprises of a registry - consisting of approximately twenty staff members - and the judiciary, namely judges, their associates, and clerks. We are a close-knit team with a focus on fostering team chemistry and contributing to an exciting and flourishing workplace environment.
In the civil jurisdiction the Court deals with high level and complex litigation in all fields, including commercial and international cases. In the criminal jurisdiction it deals with the highest level of serious criminal trials. In the appellate jurisdiction it reviews decisions of the District Court and a wide range of other subordinate judicial authorities.

Utu ā-tau/Salary
The remuneration band for this role is $58,729 to $80,794 - the appointing salary will be based on skills and experience.
