Experienced Butcher

**Our Wellington Butchery Branch is looking to hire qualified and experienced butchers to join the team.**
- Immediate start
- Role: Full time, permanent
- Location: Melling, Lower Hutt
- Days of work: Monday to Saturday
- Shift timings: 4.00 am start till mid-day
- Saturdays early finish

As a butcher, you will be part of a fast paced team and assist in providing high quality meat cuts. You will be a confident Butcher with certification to match.

**ABOUT THE JOB**:

- Cutting meat to separate meat, fat and tissue from around the bones
- Cutting specialised cuts and deboning
- Wrapping and packing
- Move carcasses to boning table for preparation.
- Ensure that satisfactory yield is maintained at all times.
- Work on automatic machinery to process meat carcasses.
- Packing of processed stock into cartons for storage.
- Ensure correct product label and correct weight have been placed on the carton.
- Ensure that the stock is packed and arranged as per Operational SOPs
- Check to ensure all meat are stored properly and stock is rotated.
- Maintain high standards of Food safety and Health and Safety at all times

**ABOUT YOU**:
The successful applicant will have the following attributes:

- A Trade qualification or relevant butchery experience
- Skill and experience in cutting meat and preparing standard meat cuts
- Proven skills in Beef Boning or Slicing
- Around 2-3 years of hands on experience in the industry
- Evidence of a referenced, stable work history
- Be physically fit and able to lift/move heavy items
- A proven commitment to Safety & Wellbeing and Food Safety in the workplace.
- Organised with the ability to meet deadlines
- An ability to multi-task and work under pressure, plan workload effectively
