**Te** **kōwhiringa | The Opportunity**
The Software & Network Engineer is required to support the ITS Technical Manager in Te Anau and ultimately the technology in the transport corridor on the Milford Road to deliver bespoke, niche market, software & networking solutions.

Additionally other internal and external clients as required.

The Software and Network Engineer will contribute to the team by developing and implementing systems to streamline data collection and delivery as well as enhanced data display.

**Education & Qualifications**:
A relevant tertiary qualification in Electronics/Physics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or similar experience

**Experience**:
At least 3 years’ experience in systems admin/networking admin or similar role

**Skills & Knowledge**:

- Strong problem-solving skills to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
- Well versed in TCP/IP protocols, Routing, VLANS, Wireless, VPNs, CCNA or similar desired.
- Experience working with virtualization technologies (e.g. ESXi / vSphere)
- Scripting and Automation working.
- Proficiency in installing, managing, and configuring various operating systems Windows/Linux environments.
- Familiarity with backup and disaster recovery methods.
- A relevant tertiary qualification in software engineering.

- Motivation: This position requires a high degree of motivation, be self-driven and be able to work independently.

Travel: This role will require considerable travel of at least 1 week per month away from the home base; a commitment up-front to travel to meet our clients' needs as required is required.
