**Job description**

**Purpose of Position**:
To service and repair vehicle hoists in accordance with the manufacturers guidelines.

To install vehicle hoists as required by the distributor or owner in accordance with the manufacturers guidelines.

To train, organise and supervise vehicle hoist technicians.

Key Accountabilities:
1. To assemble and install new and used vehicle hoists, wheel balancers, tyre changers, wheel aligners, other mechanical components and hydraulic systems if required.

2. To conduct inspection and maintenance of vehicle hoists, wheel balancers/ aligners and tyre changers.

3. To diagnose faults on the garage equipment.

4. To select tools and equipment to carry out repairs on all types of garage equipment,

e.g. vehicle hoists, wheel balancers and tyre changers.

5. To ensure that designs and finished work are within specifications, regulations and contract provisions.

6. To provide training and organising and supervising vehicle hoist technicians.

7. To ensure all work is carried out in a professional and ethical manner.

8. To carry out the instructions of, and perform the duties in the manner requested by your manager.

9. To identify any faults and problems with hoists and ensure that these are brought to the attention of the customer.

10. To ensure that your manager is kept informed and updated of any faults or problems identified when you are servicing, repairing or installing the hoist.

11. To inform your manager if requested work is unable to be carried out or completed in the given time frame, or as instructed.

12. To be prepared to travel outside of the main office locations and to spend night(s) away if necessary. E.g., being prepared to travel to diverse worksites in Auckland area, Waikato, Bay of Plenty/Rotorua and Northland region.

13. To work as part of a team showing consideration for other staff members and management.

14. To adhere to the principle of confidentiality regarding information obtained during the course of your employment that may:

- pertain to another business, organisation or person.
- pertain to Advanced Hoist Services, Asco Engineering, Western Machinery and any other subsidiaries of the business.

15. To ensure all work carried out is in accordance with high standards of customer service delivery. This includes but is not limited to:

- Technician to ensure that in their dealings with customers and suppliers they maintain a polite and helpful attitude.
- Technician to keep their working areas (both in the workshop and when on jobs) as clean as possible and to tidy up when jobs completed.
- To carry out any other relevant duties that may be requested by management.

Essential Experience
- Working with Vehicle Hoists (at least 3-5 years)
- Working with Hydraulics (at least 3-5 years)

Desired Education
- Cert in Hydraulics Lifting
- Equipment Certification Electrical

Desired Experience
- Broad background in engineering sector
- Mechanical background

Minimum guaranteed hours of 40 per week

Starting rate is $28 per hour

**Salary**: From $28.00 per hour
