Counties Manukau District Interpreting Service (ITS) is based at the Manukau Health Park and services the requests of all CMH inpatient, outpatients and community interpreting requirements as well as any external client requests from the Police, Ministry of Justice and other agencies predominantly in the South Auckland region.

We have a fixed term secondment position (0.6fte) from 26 February 2024 - 28 August 2024 available for a Fijian Hindi Interpreter to join our dynamic team to enable us to meet the needs of our Community. We are a 24/7 service provider and as a casual Interpreter we require you to be available at short notice as well as being able to complete pre-booked appointments. Ideally you will be available for work on an on-call basis Monday-Sunday.

Essential:

- A recognised NZ qualification in Interpreting, at minimum a Liaison Certificate in Interpreting (Health).
- Fluent in English and Fijian Hindi.
- Knowledge of the NZ healthcare system and medical terminology.
- Ability to provide consecutive interpreting services via face to face, telephone and virtual remote interpreting.
- Ability to demonstrate excellent customer service.
- Ability to communicate effectively across cultures.
