**Job Title**: Duty manager
**Report to**: General Manager
**Location**: Orewa, Auckland
**Type**: Full Time Permanent
**Vacancy**: 1
**Hourly wage**: $29.66-$30.00
Working time is between the hours of 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. Monday to Sunday, minimum 30 hours a week, no more than 60 hours a week. You may be required to work different and/or additional hours to meet the requirements of the business.
**Requirements**:
a. A diploma (not lower than or equivalent to level 5 diploma) or at least 3-year relevant area
b. Preferrable with previous experience within the tourism or hospitality industry
c. Strong leadership and management skills
d. Great personal skills to solve complaints in a professional way
e. Competent computer literacy would be a preference.
f. A multi-taker who can maintain professionalism with busy work load
**Key Responsibilities**:
l Manage and maintain lodging facilities
l Make recommendation to the employer and design and develop plans on managing motel, establishing standards for personnel administration and performance service to patrons, room rates, advertising, publicity, security, garden and building maintenance, licensing, occupational health and safety, and audit.
l Plan budgets and authorize expenditure within limit set by the employer and analyse financial information and create business reports for the Employer.
**l Be responsible for staff management**: Interviewing applicants and judging the quality of their skills to staff various positions in motel, hiring and training staff, assigning duties to workers and scheduling shifts, observing and monitoring workers' performance to make sure that company rules and procedures are being followed.
l Inspect and review the conditions of motel (interior, exterior and public area).
l Make recommendation for improvements via refurbishment, contents replacement, or etc.
l Maintain high standard and conditions of property and guest rooms including cleaning, maintenance and landscaping.
l Answer customers' questions about motel, its policies and services, and provide local tourism information, to make them feel at home, and build on-going relationships; resolve customers complaints; review customer satisfaction.
l Oversee and develop marketing campaigns; managing and reply any social media software.
l Oversee, monitor and collect payments as well as of advance payments, and recording of these, ensuring all records are accurate and well maintained.
l Receive and process advance payments, letters to customers and confirmation of receipt of payment and booking.
l Purchase supplies or services from outside suppliers, such as food and beverages, laundry, repairs, and garbage disposal.
l Arranging and supervising security arrangements, and garden and property maintenance.
l Handling complains and overseeing the service recovery procedures.
l Hold regular meetings and briefs with the team
l Other reasonable duties in the motel operation assigned by the employer.
