**Position Overview**:
As a Development Lead, you will spend 70% of your time writing code and working within a delivery squad, and 30% mentoring senior, intermediate, and junior engineers.

In this role, you'll have the opportunity to work across various transformative projects, lead a talented group of developers, and contribute to the creation of a new energy future.

**What you’ll be doing**:
You will mentor and develop high-performing engineers, fostering a productive and collaborative working environment. This includes 1:1s, coaching, and providing professional development opportunities to software developers.

Identify strengths and skill gaps for engineers, and facilitate knowledge transfer and upskilling. Proactively help engineers improve their technical and soft skills.

Act as a communication channel between developers, squads, and teams - spot trends and wider issues, proactively raise them up, and help to improve our ways of working and outcomes.

You will write efficient, maintainable code in Java and using AWS technologies.

**What you’ll need to succeed**:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field.

Proven track record (5 years) in software development using Java, React, and AWS.

Strong expertise in architecting and implementing solutions within the AWS ecosystem.

Previous experience in a leadership or tech lead role, with a knack for motivating and mentoring.

Deep understanding of software design principles, patterns, and best practices.

Excellent problem-solving skills, with a knack for turning challenges into opportunities.

Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with diverse teams.
