Specialty Clinical Nurse - OTF Paediatric Perioperative Services, Starship Child Health

Our Paediatric Perioperative Services has a fantastic opportunity for a passionate experienced Perioperative Nurse to lead the clinical activities and care coordination of paediatric patients having General Anaesthetic for procedures and surgery outside the theatre suite and to provide Nursing support to our Paediatric Vascular Access Service. This role is also responsible for the Clinical Excellence Programme within the Paediatric Operating Rooms.

- either have or be eligible for registration with NZ Nursing Council as a Registered Nurse.
- be an experienced Perioperative Nurse with 3+ years of Operating Room experience with an extensive range of theatre nursing skills.
- be able to provide clinical support, expertise, knowledge and leadership to the unit and staff, to ensure quality patient care.
- have well-developed communication, critical thinking skills and a commitment to family centred care
- have a strong commitment to quality healthcare

Starship Child Health is a dedicated paediatric healthcare service and major teaching centre, providing family centred care to neonates, children and young people throughout New Zealand and the South Pacific. Starship is a part of Te Toka Tumai Auckland and is the only comprehensive children's hospital in New Zealand serving a population of approximately 1 million children.
The Operating Rooms at Starship Children's Hospital cover Acute/ Emergency and elective procedures in the paediatric specialties of General, Thoracic, Urology, Endoscopy, Oncology, ORL, Dental, Head and Neck, Orthopaedics, Spinal, Plastics and Cardiac. We look after babies and children up to 15 years of age from the greater Auckland region and the South Pacific.
