**Due to an internal move, a promising opportunity has arisen for an experienced and forward thinking,** Engineering Manager** to work for Silver Fern Farms - Belfast. In this position you will play a pivotal role in leading a strong team of likeminded individuals within the plant maintenance team across electrical and mechanical departments and caring for day to day and growth of the onsite engineering teams - sub contractors and contractors alike in this impressive and multi faceted, beef only site. As a proven leader you will seamlessly champion the day to day running of the site engineering team, with a focus on both preventative and reactive maintenance but have a scope to assist our large site based projects team, as well as on-going growth of the business for the already well-known supplier in the New Zealand and International markets. Team this with a reputation for unmatched service, excellent working solutions for both the onsite team and wider company and a technical team that has built up an enviable credibility, you are stepping in to lead an amazing and significantly large workforce, with the support of an onsite leadership team who knows how to encourage and promote the journey you are taking on, with both hands.

**You’ll need to have the following**:

- Strong business acumen with a proven background in a similar environment and knowing how to lead & galvanize a strong team from the front - as many hands make light work.
- Trade Certification in a mechanical or electrical environment would be advantageous, But proven large team leadership experience is necessary and LEAN manufacturing principles would be highly regarded.
- Strong financial, PNL and KPI exposure in past roles and a proven ability to attain targets and adhere to budgets and relate this to your team on a day-to-day basis.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a passion for providing a quality service to both staff and suppliers alike across diverse teams and in time precious environments.
- Strong leadership style and an open-door policy and a desire to be an intricate member of the senior leadership team on site, making you relatable to the team both up and down.
- Solid understanding of change management - comfortable with change in itself - and a preparedness to encourage everyone on the journey also.
- Ability to relocate and be residentially based in the Canterbury Region
