**About us**

Waiheke Bus Company forms part of Fullers360 and operates a public transport network on behalf of Auckland Transport. There are four main routes, running from Matiatia ferry terminal to Oneroa, Blackpool, Surfdale, Palm Beach, Ostend, Rocky Bay, Onetangi and Kennedy Point.

We also operate school bus services to the main schools on the island. We provide a regular, punctual bus service including buses that meet every ferry departure and arrival to the island.

Waiheke Bus Company has a fleet of modern buses (including electric) ranging in size from 19 to over 70 seats, along with coach liners and three double deckers used primarily for the popular Explorer Hop on Hop off bus tour.

**About the role**

As the Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our bus services on Waiheke Island. You will lead and support a team of drivers, ensuring that they provide safe, reliable, and efficient transport services to our customers. You will also be responsible for managing the

schedule, monitoring vehicle maintenance, and handling customer inquiries and concerns.

This is a full-time permanent role working onsite at our depot in Waiheke on a rotating roster between the hours of 4:45am and 8pm.

Some of your key responsibilities include:

- Ensuring the depot is open on time at the start of shift and prestart bus allocation is completed, including all prestart checks and preparation for operation, allocating correct buses, checking logs from previous night
- Communicating with the WBC mechanics on day-to-day maintenance, repair and planning, while being kept informed of major issues or delays regarding maintenance of the fleet
- Ensuring that bus breakdowns/defects are reported promptly and through appropriate channels
- Checking the tour patronage to ensure correct allocation of vehicle and driver requirements
- Providing service cover during rostered breaks as required for drivers and hosts
- Ensuring that all accidents are reported in accordance with procedures and the necessary documentation completed as soon as practicable
- Work closely with the Operations Team Leader to plan, implement and document staff training, monitor records and reporting of staff training and appropriate qualifications
- Ensure all other training/qualification requirements for all staff are current, book training courses and roster staff accordingly
- Manage the Bus Driver training and sign-off process; completing all paperwork, maintaining up to date records and updating the Land Transport Manager on training progress. Provide instruction, training and supervision of new bus drivers to ensure they are competent and signed off
- Ensure team members receive appropriate familiarisation and induction training to carry out their work safely taking account of any hazards and risk involved and the nature of the work task
- Provide statistical and performance feedback and coaching on a regular basis to drivers and hosts
- Lead by example ensuring compliance with company Health and Safety policy and procedures
- Availability for on call with the Duty phone on a rotational basis

**About you**
- Management / Supervisory experience
- Ability to work onsite between the hours of 4:45am - 20:00 on a rotational basis
- Quality Assurance and Compliance management experience
- Health and Safety background
- Customer service and sales experience
- Intermediate computer skills
- Class 2 driver’s license, class 4 preferred
- P endorsement
- Standard of fitness to carry out all tasks of the role
