We are looking an enthusiastic Recycling Ambassador to support the partnership between Hutt City Council and Waste Management in reducing contamination in recycling bins across the Hutt Valley.
**About the role**
In this role, you will be responsible for the inspection, recording and monitoring of contamination in kerbside recycling wheelie bins.
Key responsibilities will include
- Visual inspection and auditing of recycling bins to ensure they meet acceptance criteria.
- Maintaining accurate data and uploading data into an app directly from the kerbside.
- Assisting in the removal of third strikes and removing bins from the kerbside.
- Ensuring daily maintenance and safety checks on equipment is completed.
**To be successful in this role**
You will be physically fit and strong, and able to work in wet or sunny conditions with an ability to start early (6.00am) This role requires a large amount of walking and some heavy lifting.
- Class 1 driver’s licence and experience using a trailer required.
- Comfortable using a cell phone.
- Ability to read and follow maps
- High attention to detail
- Strong verbal communication skills
- Self-motivated
- Have a strong Health & Safety focus
