We have an opportunity for an experienced **Senior API Developer** who is passionate about delivering quality working software to enhance the bank's advantage.

**Mō te Tūranga | About the Role**

We sat down with one of our People Leader's (who you'd report to), and they let us know the following about the tūranga (role);
**What are the day-to-day tasks the person in this tūranga will complete?**

Everyday is varied but do expect to attend our tīma (team) stand-up daily, update Jira tickets with progress as well as be a part of developing solutions using new technologies to help build API's. You will be working alongside Engineer Leads, Cloud Platform tīma and Engineering Dojo's when needed.

**What is the tīma culture and environment like?**

We are a fun, collaborative bunch who are supportive & celebrate our tīma success.

Initially, the main focus will require you to be a key part of transforming BNZ's General Insurance offering. Working in partnership with IAG to provide our ngā kiritaki with real time access to insurance quotes and policies via our Internet Banking and Mobile channels.

**What is the most exciting thing about this opportunity?**

To be able to develop API (AWS) solutions using new technologies and infrastructure as per approved BNZ patterns. We use the latest AWS technologies to build and deploy Serverless API's in the cloud.

Although the tūranga we are hiring for requires specific skills, you will have plenty of opportunities to pursue mahi in other development areas in the future. We have a varied tech stack at BNZ including AWS, Azure,.Net, Java, Kotlin, React, Angular, Jenkins, Apigee, Kong to name a few.

We are looking for someone who can mahi collaboratively, autonomously and confidently in developing API solutions. The successful applicant will also be an expert developer in relevant programming language, framework, or infrastructure with proven ability to communicate ideas and designs clearly and concisely.
