**What we do**

Strategic Policy is looking for an inquisitive Policy Advisor to join our high-performing team. We are looking for someone who can help develop economic advice and thinking by bringing policy, analytical and strategy skills to bear on issues that matter for the future wellbeing of New Zealanders.

Strategic Policy is part of the Strategic Policy and Programmes group, where we are united in our mission of ‘Looking ahead, working across - Haumi ē, Hui ē, Tāiki e', providing strategic and system-focused advice for MBIE and our Ministers.

**Skills and Experience Required**

To work in this role you'll need to love an intellectual challenge and won't be afraid of ambiguity. We are looking for someone with:

- Knowledge of and experience using a range of economic frameworks in a policy context
- Some experience providing robust policy analysis, advice and intellectual leadership
- The ability to assist and challenge other policy team members and staff across MBIE to think laterally about policy issues and solutions
- Passion and ability to foster an open, collaborative environment that encourages quality, innovation, on-going learning and knowledge sharing
- Stakeholder relationship building and engagement skills to gain the cooperation and commitment of others
- Policy professionals with 1-3 years' experience or recent graduates with relevant experience
