We know many areas of the health system are not working well for Pacific people, aiga, ngutuare tangata, famili, kāinga, magafoa, kaiga, vuvale and kaaiga (families) and communities. In fact, Pacific health inequities are observed throughout the lifecourse, from pregnancy and early childhood through to older age.

The Pacific Health Group have a new opportunity for a **Secretary **to the** Fatu Fono Ola (Pacific Senate)** The Fatu Fono Ola is a group who provide objective and strategic advice to Te Whatu Ora to transform the system with a goal of achieving equity in health outcomes for Pacific peoples. This includes clinical advice, public health advice and technical advice that is for Pacific, by Pacific.

The secretary role will be responsible for faciliatating and coordinating the Fatu Fono Ola monthly meetings including arranging agendas, invitations, papers, minutes and communication required to ensure the timely and smooth running of these meetings. The secretary will also need to provide strong operational leadership to manage the alignment of the Fatu Fono Ola priorities with the strategic goals of the Pacific Health Group, aimed at delivering high quality and effective healthcare.

You are an experienced leader with extensive operational experience, ideally gained in leadership roles within a Pacific health environment. A skilled communicator who can easily enable a team to proactively try new approaches and help them continuously improve and develop.

**Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience**
- You can demonstrate building and sustaining effective working relationships with senior Pacific Clinicians, SMEs or Stakeholders
- Have proven extensive operational experience, ideally gained in leadership roles within a Pacific health environment.
- You can demonstrate previous successful partnership with Pacific Peoples Communities.
- Conversant in/A level of/committed to learning Samoan, Cook Island Māori, Tongan, Niuean, Fijian, Tokelauan, Tuvaluan, or Kiribati will be preferential.
- Experience working in complex teams in an organisation either regionally or nationally
- Successful experience enabling a team culture in which people proactively try new approaches, learn and develop and find ways to continuously improve in their area of expertise
- Excellent communication skills, diplomacy, negotiation, interpersonal skills to influence, inspire and motivate others, including staff, clinicians and stakeholders
- Experience in identifying, developing and processing strategic opportunities for continuous improvement and transformational change.
