Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role
The HCA contributes to the successful operation of the nursing team by collaborating and working alongside the Inter-disciplinary team, Registered Nurse (RN) to meet the patient/client needs.
The Procedure Suite is a multi-specialty ambulatory/outpatient service for minor procedures under local anaesthesia. This service encompasses, Orthopaedic, General Surgery, Gynaecology and Ophthalmology and Regional Plastic Surgery.
The position will support the nursing teams to provide an effective practice environment in all of the areas identified above. The role requires you to assist the nurses with preparing patients for their procedures, ensuring stock levels are maintained and areas are kept clean and tidy. You will need to be able to readily build rapport with patients, clinicians and other staff to achieve quality outcomes for patients.

**Responsibilities include**:
Preparing patients for local anaesthetic procedures, under the direction and delegation of a registered nurse
Stock taking and ordering supplies
House keeping
Ensuring high quality patient care and consistency of standards are delivered within the expectations of best practice and organisational policy

The Procedure Suite is a new purpose built facility that will be opening shortly. An experienced Associated Clinical Nurse Manager is looking to establish and develop a dynamic team of nurses, health care assistant and administration staff.
Experienced nurses will also be present from the various specialties and will bring expertise from their field of nursing. You will be working in a multi-disciplinary team environment and have the opportunity to establish excellent working relationships and rapport with new team members as we build this exciting new service.
Moū - About you
Qualifications, skills and experience include

**Health and Wellbeing**: Health Assistance Level 3 or equivalent or prepared to complete within specified timeframes
2 years Heath Care Assistance experience
Experience in Plastics Surgery, Gynaecology, Orthopaedic, General Surgery, Ophthalmology and/or theatre desirable
The ability to provide day to day health care assistant support to nursing staff and the surgical team within the Procedure Suite setting
Excellent communication is essential
