A fixed-term lamb-rearing position is available in Kirwee starting mid-July to October.
**About the Role**
This is a full-time position working up to 50-hour weeks on a roster (roster to be confirmed with the successful applicants which will include weekends). You will work in a team of 2-3 people ensuring around 600 lambs get fed daily.
A typical day starts at 6.30 am with feeding system checks and, depending on the day's tasks and the number of new lambs, may last until 2.00 pm. There is also a night check.
- Entering barn - vaccinations, weighing, tags and teaching lambs to drink off teats for the first 3 days.
- Check automatic feeders
- Ensure all muesli, lucerne, water etc is full
- Perform animal health checks
- Clean pens out
**About You**
Some animal-rearing experience is needed for this role. Ideally, you have knowledge of common animal health issues and are capable of proactively identifying them and reporting them to the appropriate person. You'll have strong attention to detail and be familiar with appropriate animal handling techniques in line with animal welfare best practices.
- You **must **have reliable transport
- Previous experience rearing animals
- Able to commit to the July-October term
**What's On Offer**
- Earn $25 - $30 per hour depending on experience
