Sony Music Entertainment New Zealand is home to the world's biggest and brightest local and international artists and we are looking for an exceptional, talented **Promotions and Publicity Specialist **to join our team in the Auckland office on a 6-month contract.

In this role you will be responsible for creating as much noise and excitement as possible about our artists' releases and activities within Aotearoa and working within a passionate and tight-knit team.

**What you will do**:

- Create Publicity strategy of media content and roll out to sit within the promotions plan, providing content for the social media team and artist channels;
- Plan, pitch and execute on-ground and remote media schedules for local roster and international touring artists; this includes connecting interviews and taking artists out on press runs;
- Foster and manage relationships with media and external parties as well as attending events and shows to form relationships with artists, their teams and Sony Music partners;
- Support the Promotions & Business Development Manager, in exploring, evaluating, and identifying brand partnership opportunities;
- Assist the Promotions Manager with executing promotional events and touring activity including gifting and artist liaison (in-store events, showcases, artist meet & greets etc.);
- Oversee the release of weekly EDM to media partners and manage PR lists;
- Assist in financial aspects of promotion administration including processing invoices and managing budgets;
- Assisting the Promotions & Business Development team with any ad-hoc admin tasks as required.

**Who you are**:

- A minimum of 2-3 years of experience working in public relations, marketing or communications;
- A solid understanding of media channels including traditional, owned and social and expert knowledge of the NZ media landscape;
- Excellent skills in Microsoft office suite; building PowerPoint presentations.
- Excellent relationship management and communication skills;
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with a high level of attention to detail;
- Proven track record of developing and implementing strategic promotional campaigns;
- Experience in events management;
- Have a passion for music and live events;
- Ability to problem-solve and think on your feet;
- Thrive in a team environment and be able to take initiative and work independently;
- A full New Zealand driver's license
