Farm Manager

Cheviot, New Zealand Agstaff Full time

**About Our Client**
Due to the poor health of our client's current Farm Manager, we have a rare and exciting opportunity available for a Farm Manager on their dairy sheep farm.

Our client is a friendly family-owned and operated Sheep dairy farm. They have a 600-ewe farm across 350 hectares. The shed is a 10-aside herringbone with an in-shed feeding system. There is also a quaint and newly kitted out process factory on site where our client processes raw milk, cheese and yoghurt.

**About the Role**
The farm is located in Darfield, 20 minutes from Christchurch City. There is a short drive to the Darfield town centre which includes supermarkets, cafes, gyms, a doctor’s office, and a petrol station.

There is plenty of variety in this position, with two days never the same, each day bringing a different set of challenges and rewards. The wider farming includes cropping, cattle breeding and dry stock ewes.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working hard to see the rewards and who prides themselves on a happy and healthy herd. We are looking for someone who is passionate about dairy farming and we welcome applicants from those that have experience in cow or sheep dairy. We also encourage and like to "get behind" those eager to move up in the roles, therefore this could be your opportunity to step up into an exciting new challenge.

The accommodation provided with the role is a tidy 4-bedroom home, less than 5 years old with ample heating and fully furnished if required.
