The Whakatipu Transport Programme Alliance (WTPA) is delivering an exciting $200m-plus programme of work in Queenstown. The programme brings together projects for Queenstown Lakes District Council and Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency, to provide safer and better options for walking, cycling and public transport throughout the region.
The alliance is a partnership between Queenstown Lakes District Council, Waka Kotahi, Fulton Hogan, Downer, Beca and WSP.
The Site Engineer is responsible for providing on-site monitoring of all construction-related works to ensure quality, Health and Safety, and environmental aspects are completed to the required specification and management plans. They will also monitor financial elements such as procurement and deliveries, productivity targets, and subcontractor attendance.
**Responsibilities include, but are not limited to**:
- Provide input on early and ongoing procurement of all construction materials, equipment and subcontractors and then manage this throughout the delivery of the project
- Management and Supervision of sub-contractors on site
- Assist the Project Engineer in the implementation of CEP, Quality Plans and Safety Plans
- Liaison and co-ordination with HSE and Stakeholder Engagement teams
- Collaborate with other Engineers and Station Leads to review, implement and manage the safety and quality requirements for the project
- Monitor productivity and keep daily records summarising works completed and daily progress
- Ensuring the highest standards of Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality performance is achieved
**To be successful in this role**
- Must hold a tertiary qualification or equivalent in Civil Engineering or Construction Management
- 3-5 years’ experience in, and / or knowledge of, civil infrastructure works
- Ability to meet deadlines and prioritise duties; takes initiatives
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Good computer skills
- Strong commitment to Health & Safety initiatives
