Stagehands

Christchurch, New Zealand Remarkable People Limited Full time

We are looking for Pushers and Stagehands to work next Sunday 25th June at Cirque Du Soleil at Christchurch Arena.

Shifts are detailed below:
Sunday 25 June: 1.15pm - 5.15pm Stagehand
Sunday 25 June: 2.45pm - 6.45pm Pusher
Sunday 25 June: 2.45pm - 6.45pm Stagehand

The Pushers can just need to have a basic level of fitness, and be able to follow directions. The bulk of the work you do will literally be pushing road cases from containers to where they need to go.

The Stagehands will be putting the sets together, but mostly they’ll either be holding a large thing in place, or tightening a bolt as directed. Any level of building or construction knowledge, or any experience in a theatre, will be a bonus. The sets for shows of this caliber are designed to be kitset, clip-together, straightforward affairs

You will need to wear steelcap boots for this event and be able to pass a drug test and clean MOJ check.

Everyone requested here will be **working on open ice**. The ice floor is usually chilled down to -18°C for all load in and load out periods, meaning it will be rock-hard, but care still needs to be taken and suitable non-slip soles on shoes are a very good idea.

Direct from the production rider: “All stagehands may be asked to stay until the maximum allowable time”. This is their way of saying “we work until the job is done, make sure your crew are ready to do the same”.
